Whether you are just starting out, ready for a career change, or you want to help out in your community, there are plenty of career options for you to explore.

Youth and adults have many opportunities to learn from talking with and working alongside established professionals in their field. Plus, find links to organizations focused on helping people find their fit and get their career started.


Job Shadowing

Are you interested in learning about a new career or area in health care? Job Shadowing allows you to experience a day in the life of a professional in the health care industry.

Work Experience

Earn credit towards your high school diploma while pursuing a wide variety of work experience options with AHS. This is a great way to explore careers and find the right one for you!

Kids to Work

Occurring each year on the first Wednesday of November, this program provides an opportunity for Grade 9 students to watch their parent, or an approved AHS employee host, in the work environment at AHS.

Volunteer

Do you like helping people? Are you looking for new experiences? Want to make a difference in your community? Then you might enjoy volunteering with AHS. Gain experience and knowledge about health care careers.

Health Sciences Career Camps

AHS, Careers the Next Generation and various post-secondary schools have partnered to offer interactive, educational and unique summer camps across the province. These week long camps are an opportunity for 15 to 18 year olds to participate in hands-on activities and interactive demonstrations, tour labs, as well as go behind the scenes at local health care facilities.
