Hiring Process

From application to job offer

Here, you’ll get a peek into the hiring process, from initial application and job interview through the offer of employment.

See what to expect at each stage of the process.

Step 1: Create your Profile

The most important step toward starting a career with AHS is to visit our online job board and create a candidate profile. With your profile you can track the progress of your applications and update your resume whenever you wish.

Step 2: Search and Apply

Use our online job board to search and apply for positions that suit your skills and interests. Remember to submit your resume and cover letter online before the closing date. Once an application is submitted you should receive a confirmation.

Step 3: Interview List

AHS hiring managers will review all applications received before the deadline. We will contact you if you are shortlisted for an interview. This process typically takes 2-4 weeks from the time the job posting closes. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

Step 4: Your Interview

In most cases, you will be invited to meet with us face-to-face. If this isn't possible, we may choose to interview you by phone or virtually. Our goal is to learn more about your education, abilities, experience, and personality, and see if you are a good fit for the job – and our team.

Step 5: Reference Check

If we feel you are the right fit for the position, we will ask you for two or more work references. Our follow-up may include confirming your education, previous salary, employment history and work habits.

Step 6: Employment Offer

Congratulations! We think you are the best person for the job. We will phone you with an employment offer. Afterwards, we will send you a written Offer Letter via email. If you agree with its terms and conditions, we ask you sign and return it to your hiring manager.

Step 7: Before you Start

You will be given access to our New Employee Portal which outlines our policies, benefits, orientation, and more. For some positions, you may need to provide proof you are licensed to practice in Alberta.

Step 8: Onboarding Proces

Once you start at AHS, you will go through an onboarding process with assistance from your manager. This can include online learning modules, site tours, mentorship, and more.
