Breastfeeding support is available through telephone counselling and/or in-person contacts. After the birth of a baby, a Public Health Nurse contacts the family to inquire about how their baby is feeding; and to offer information, support and services.
Services may include assessment and support primarily from a public health nurse who may or may not be an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Parents will be informed of the option for support from a local lactation or general parent support group where available.
